Google Gadgets are great idea to make a small and fast applications. There are millions of Google gadgets are available in Google gadget directory where one can find Google gadgets on each and every subject on planet. It is also very easy to start writing Google gadgets. One just needs to know basics of XML, HTML and Java Script to create gadgets. I have created some of the Google Puzzles Gadgets. May be I will write again on how to create gadgets later.
If one want to create a website, one can pick gadgets from Google directory relevant to its subject and put it on the website. Using these gadgets I have created Solving Logical Online Puzzles website where one can solve the logical puzzles like Sudoku, Kakuro, Slitherlinks, Hitori etc online.
Anyway after creating a gadget one needs to let world know that there is your gadget. One need to submit the gadget in the public domain where user can find them. Here in this post I am going to mention few of these public directories where one can submit Google gadgets.
Google Gadget Directory:
Google Gadget Directory is best place to submit the Google Gadget. Once you submit the gadget the in Google Gadget Directory it will be available to millions of igoogle Users. It takes little time for Google to show your gadget in directory once you submit it there. If you want to sure that your gadget is actually listed just search it at Google Gadget Directory. If the search returns your gadgets then it is already listed otherwise wait for 1-2 days to get your gadget listed in the Google Directory. So if you have not submitted your gadget to Google Directory do it now.
Google Modules:
Google Modules is another best place to submit your gadgets. It requires you to put url of your gadgets and also be ready to put the tags cloud using which users of your application will be able to find you. Once you submit the gadget, immediately it will be available for user to find your gadgets. Once you submit the gadget, go to home page to see that your gadget is listed on top of other gadgets there.
One advice, One has to be careful while visiting the home page this website. As this website does not put any restrictions of contents of gadgets and submitted gadget immediately appears on top at their website home page, there may be many adult content gadgets submitted recently which will show at the home page of this website at top. So be careful while opening this website.
Gadzi Google Gadgets:
Gadgets listed in the Gadzi directory are unique, useful, interesting or fun. If your gadget fits their site bill then it can be listed in this directory.
In order for a gadget to be listed in Gadzi, it must first be submitted to two places Google Gadget Directory and Google Modules which are mentioned above.
Once your gadget has been submitted to the above resources, this sites' editors will have the ability to use, install, and review your gadget.
The Gadzi directory is only accepting submissions for the specific subjects listed which are listed on their home page at the moment. To submit your gadget to us, please be sure you have submitted it to the above directories, and then send the URL of your gadget to gadgets@gadzi.com. Please note that Gadzi is very selective in what they accept into their directory.
I found this website recently. Earlier there used to be website named Google Mini Apps. Looks like that website got renamed to AppFoyer as their interface is same.
Submitting the gadget here is quite easy. Just give the url of your Gadget which you want to submit. Select the Categories in which you want to place your gadget. Accept their terms and conditions and your gadget is submitted. Do checkout their website now.
