At first, this puzzle looks like an ordinary Sudoku grid, but the extra "Different" constraint changes the way numbers interact. Cells connected by the given markers must contain different values, creating additional restrictions throughout the puzzle. A placement that seems valid under normal Sudoku rules may not work here, making careful deduction essential.
Different Sudoku is also known as Pointing Different Sudoku. It is a Sudoku type that appeared in the World Sudoku Championship 2016 with the name Pointing Different Sudoku.
