This Sudoku type appeared in World Puzzle Federation Sudoku Grand Prix 2013 round 3. That time this tournament was also the German Sudoku Championship. This Sudoku type appeared in this championship with the German name "Pfeile Sudoku". Pfeile means Arrows in German. So English name for this puzzle comes out to Arrows Sudoku.
