I am teaching a few kids Sudoku variations on weekends. Now my students are very comfortable with two easy Sudoku types: Even-Odd Sudoku and Trio Sudoku. I want to introduce them to the converse rules of Sudoku puzzles. First, I thought that I would introduce Consecutive Sudoku to them. However, it would have been confusing for small kids. So I created this variation, Odd-Even Consecutive Sudoku. This Sudoku variation is nothing but an Odd-Even Sudoku in a different presentation. The first one needs to mark even and Odd cells in the Sudoku and then solve this Sudoku as an Even-Odd Sudoku. Kids loved this variation when I introduced it to this variation. They also understood the concept of the converse rule. Another thing they learned is the importance of good notation in Sudoku solving, as this Sudoku type requires one to mark even and Odd cells.
This Odd-Even Consecutive Sudoku I am posting as the 107th Sudoku in the Fun With Sudoku Series.
