Frame-Diagonal Sudoku appeared in the 2nd round of the World Puzzle Federation Sudoku Grand Prix 2016. I created this Sudoku for practice for this championship. This Sudoku type is almost similar to Frame Sudoku, with the additional rule that two main diagonals also should contain numbers from 1 to 9. In fact, Sudoku without these diagonal rules is most of the time solvable when all the frame hints are given. The additional constraint of diagonals also containing numbers from 1 to 9 makes the puzzle easier. This is the reason I have not given all the frame hints to make this Sudoku challenge. I enjoyed creating this Sudoku and found it tough. So I will not recommend this Sudoku for new players. Hopefully, experienced players will enjoy this Sudoku.
This Frame-Diagonal Sudoku, I am posting in The League of Extraordinary Ladies & Gentlemen as the 158th puzzle in this series. Can you solve this Sudoku puzzle?
Rules of Frame-Diagonal Sudoku
Apply Standard Classic Sudoku rules. Additionally, each marked diagonal must also contain each number from 1 to 9 exactly once. The clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the first 3 numbers placed in the corresponding direction.
