Happy 30th installment of the Daily Sudoku League! Today, we are defending the grid with Fortress Sudoku. The classic rules of placing 1 through 9 in every row, column, and 3x3 block apply, but you must pay close attention to the shaded fortress regions. The key rule is that any digit inside a fortress must be strictly greater than at least one orthogonally adjacent digit outside the walls. This creates a fascinating "high ground" strategy. Can you build the perfect logical defense and conquer this puzzle?
Fortress Sudoku Rules
Classic Sudoku Rules apply. Additionally, a digit in a shaded cell must be higher than the digits in all orthogonally adjacent white cells.
