If you're looking for a Sudoku variant that adds an arithmetic twist to the classic rules, this Sum or Difference Sudoku is an excellent choice. The puzzle uses outside clues, each of which is the result of either adding or subtracting the two digits closest to that side. This means you must consider both possibilities for each clue, making the solving process more dynamic and strategic.
I created two puzzles of this type; this one uses larger, sum-indicative hints to ease you into the logic, while the second puzzle will be more challenging. This puzzle is a great way to practice a variant from the World Sudoku Championship and is perfect for a focused session where you can carefully deduce each clue's meaning. Grab your pencil and see how the sum or difference logic guides your path.
I am posting this Sum or Difference Sudoku as my 140th Sudoku in the Daily Sudoku League. Can you solve this Sudoku puzzle variation?
