Killer Sudoku is a Mathematical Sudoku Variation. Killer Sudoku is one of the Standard Sudoku variations and any contest will definitely have this Sudoku variation. Puzzles in Killer Sudoku can range from medium level to very tough. I don't know from where the name Killer Sudoku originates, however as the puzzles in this Sudoku variation can be very tough or killer which may be led to this name Killer Sudoku. However, if you know the right number combinations (Killer Sudoku Cheat Sheet) for the Killer Sudoku then you can solve it very fast and this Sudoku type can give you added advantage over others in a Sudoku contest.
Killer Sudoku is also known as Sum Sudoku as cages are drawn in this Sudoku type in which the sum of the numbers is provided. No number can repeat in the given cage.

How to Solve Killer Sudoku Puzzles

Before one starts solving the Killer Sudoku puzzle, one should be aware of some basic combinations of Killer Sudoku. As per the rules of the Killer Sudoku, no number can repeat in a given cage. This makes certain cage combinations which one must be known to solve a Killer Sudoku puzzle. Below I am given the very basic Killer Sudoku Cheat Sheet which one must know. This Killer Sudoku Unique Combination chart is very basic. However, this chart will help one to solve more than 90% of the Killer Sudoku puzzles.

Rules of 9x9 Killer Sudoku Puzzle

Place a digit from 1 to 9 into each of the empty cells so that each digit appears exactly once in each row, column, and outlined 3x3 box. The sum of digits in cells inside every cage must equal the total given for the cage at the upper left cell. Digits do not repeat inside a cage.

Rules of 6x6 Killer Sudoku Puzzle

Place a digit from 1 to 6 into each of the empty cells so that each digit appears exactly once in each row, column, and outlined 3x2 box. The sum of digits in cells inside every cage must equal the total given for the cage at the upper left cell. Digits do not repeat inside a cage.
