what is the formula to do it
There is no fixed formula to solve these kinds of crack the code puzzles. It is the combination of different hints which helps to solve this type of puzzle digit by digit.
We need to eliminate the digits which will not be used and selected the digits which will be used in the final answer.
e.g. In this puzzle, second hint removes three digits 5, 3 and 0. Now this information can be used in other hints to select the digits which will be used in the final answer. Doing this one can crack the code and open the lock.
