Welcome to a puzzle that introduces a real-world arithmetic concept to Sudoku! This Round Off Sudoku is my 79th contribution to the Daily Sudoku League and was created as practice for the Sudoku Grand Prix Championship 2015. The puzzle uses a unique clue system: each cage contains a two-digit number, and the clue outside tells you that number rounded to the nearest multiple of 10. The rule is simple: digits ending in 1-4 round down, and 5-9 round up. For example, 34 becomes 30, and 36 becomes 40. This clever mechanic adds a layer of calculation to your solving. It's a print-friendly puzzle that offers a fresh and engaging challenge for solvers looking to try something different.
Rules of Round-Off Sudoku
Classic Sudoku Rules apply. Additionally, each cage clue indicates the value of rounding off the two-digit number within that cage to the nearest multiple of 10. Ending digits 1-4 are rounded down, and 5-9 are rounded up.
