The Oguz Atay Puzzle Contest (OAPC) in 2009 introduced many innovative logic puzzle types and puzzle variations to the puzzle-solving community. While some of these puzzles went on to become popular classics, others remained rare and appeared only occasionally. Black Or White is one of the most interesting puzzle concepts from that era because it combines the rules of two well-known logic puzzles: Masyu and Loop. The challenge begins before the actual solving process, as you must first determine which puzzle type the grid follows and then apply the correct set of rules to complete the puzzle. This unusual brain teaser requires careful observation, logical deduction, and flexible thinking. Give it a try and share your thoughts about this unique puzzle in the comments.
Rules of Black Or White Puzzle
The given puzzle may be either a "Masyu" puzzle or a "Loop" puzzle.
Rules of Masyu Puzzle
Moving between edge-to-edge neighbouring cells, draw a closed path that passes through every circle and doesn't cross itself. The path must turn at every black circle, but can not turn immediately before or after. And the path can not turn at any white circle, but must turn immediately before and/or after. Some white circles may be painted, becoming black circles.
Rules of Loop Puzzle
Draw a closed loop in the grid, passing through every cell, avoiding black circles. The loop goes straight in white circles.
